Inexpensive Gift Ideas For Christmas

At this time of the year, many people will be spending hundreds of dollars buying their loved ones gifts. People will also spend money on food, parties and other holiday commodities. In the past, I’ve nearly maxed out credit cards buying gifts for family and friends. Consequently, I am still paying on my credit card(s). This is a dangerous habit. Try to avoid any situation that will lead you into more debt. Avoid credit cards or quick loans at all costs. Understand, Christmas shouldn’t be about giving your last penny to show your family and friends love. Remember, Jesus is the reason. Count your blessings and be thankful that you have a roof over your head and loved ones around. Can’t afford to buy gifts? Here are a few things you can do to be creative:

1.Create personalized Christmas cards with heartfelt messages Create an inexpensive Christmas Card with photos and a kind message. Some printing companies charge by the cents per cards. Add either a few dollars in an envelope or a small gift card(under $10)

2. Re-Gifting Basically, this is my favorite. In the past, I have received many gifts; candles, lotions, bath items; while attending birthday gifts and baby showers. I never used the gifts. It is brand new. Why not repackage and gift to a loved one?

3. DIY Gifts Are you good at making candles, gift baskets, T-shirts, jewelry, etc.? Create gifts for less and give to family and friends. It is a nice gesture to receive hand made gifts from family and friends.

4. Bake a cake or make other goods I would never turn down a baked cake, cookies or any goods. This is another gift that doesn’t require spending too much.

5. My Fav: Make your loved one an Authorized User Your child will thank you in the future for doing this. You do not have to give your child a card. Call your credit card company and add your child on your account. You can educate your kids on finances and credit. By the time your child turns 18, he/she can purchase a new car with good credit and no down payment.
